So I guess you want to know a bit about me…
Hey guys, I’m Matt and I’m going to show you the world. Most likely without the spontaneous karaoke on board a magic carpet because I’m sure you’d much rather listen to the vocals of Brad Kane and Lea Salonga there. With that said, I’ll never turn down a good karaoke session, so feel free to hand me a microphone any time now…
But with that said, welcome to my website. I’m from the town of Wollongong on the east coast of New South Wales, about an hour south of Sydney in Australia. I work full time as a lawyer, but my passion is travelling. I’m sure this resonates with you since you’ve found your way onto a travel website, but there’s just nothing like getting on a plane and heading to another part of the world on an adventure. So that’s what I’m going to be posting about around here.
A fair bit of my travel has been solo. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you should never let others get in the way of your plans. If you want to go somewhere, don’t wait around for others to decide they’re ready to come along. Solo travel is a very rewarding experience and really forces you to set your own itinerary and immerse yourself in the local culture. I want to follow my dreams, see places I want to see, and meet people all around the world and I want to inspire you to do the same.
“So he likes travel. Well we knew that, you’ve started a travel website” I hear you say dear reader. Well, true, how very cliche of me. I’m also a lover of all things Disney parks, learning languages and understanding different cultures – I’ve always been fascinated by the different countries of the world for as long as I can remember. I actually found my way to the travel blogging world after beginning a recent project of mine to read a book from every country (yes, I still have a long way to go there). Reading these pieces of work made me want to learn more about the places they were written and inspired from and experience them first hand. It made me realise that the world is such a vast place. Its so easy to spend our lives caught up in a bubble wherever we are, and I want to inspire others to experience different parts of the world that they are interested in.
